  •  4 decades of enriching and extensive experience in Corporate Finance, Accounts,
    Secretarial, Planning- Implementation, Auditing, Budgeting, MIS, Cost Management,
    Project implementation and Man management.
  • Assisted owners of an upcoming IHCL – SeleQtions hotel at Ayodhya in the capacity of
    V.P. -Projects & Finance, in planning & execution of the greenfield project including
    Forecast, Loan documentation – Technical Economic Viability study, negotiations with
    key vendors and ensuring timebound completion of the project.
  • Superannuated as Director of Finance, Taj Santacruz, Mumbai (IHCL), managing
    finance functions of the 210-crore hotel. Driving best EBITDA levels in the organisation &
    industry, attending Board meetings of the Legal Entity headed by GVK Group.
  • Handled Director of Finance, President IHCL SeleQtion, Mumbai before current
    assignment spearheading growth plans and profitability, flagship hotel of PIEM Hotels Ltd.
    a subsidiary of IHCL
  • Prior to that had managed Finance function of Taj Safaris Ltd.-TSL (a JV Co. of IHCL, CG-
    Nepal and &Beyond), designated as CFO, dealing with high end Safari Lodges in India &
    Nepal. Chitwan lodge was conceptualised and operations started during my tenure in TSL.
  • In past managed finance function of 2 Group Companies (TTT- Taj-Khazana) having 7
    lifestyle high-end retail outlets across India, and, Inditravels responsible for 11 Travel
    Desks (at North & East), in addition to finance, had also handled HR function of these
    companies related to region for more than 2 years and was part of ExCom of the entities.
  • Demonstrated business acumen in leading and managing the finance operations and
    contributed higher rate of organic growth.

Significant participation & outcomes

Winner of Impactful Finance Leader award in Hospitality Sector conferred at CFO Confex &
Awards 2023.
Proven track record of margin enhancement in all roles, 2% increase in CGoP at last assignment
without compromising on guest deliverables.
At Taj Santacruz, assessed the utilisation of Business centre and had recommended conversion to
partitioned Banquet venue of 2800 sq. ft hall.
Year on year Margin enhancement was achieved during my tenure at President except during
Covid19 period during which had undertaken strenuous cost optimisation exercise while
comparing cost structures with comparable hotels on minimising risk & optimising revenues.
Introduced Event/ Banquet vendors empanelment fees and structured event-based royalty
charging mechanism both at President and at Taj Santacruz, resulting in revenue of approx. Rs
130 lakhs impacting straight to bottom line.
Monetisation of assets and available spaces, e.g. solely handled installation of Large LED screens
at boundary wall of President, Mumbai giving boost to internal promotions as well as generating
monthly income of Rs. 1.75 lakhs (21 lakhs p.a.)
In Sept’18, was asked to audit of beverages service process followed at F&B operations at Taj
Gurugram. A detailed report was sent, later understood complete overhaul of operations team
In Jun’16, observed and examined inappropriate practice at a Lodge and it’s manager was
discharged of his duties based on the outcome of enquiry.
In Jan’11, penal action was taken against a Khazana Manager upon variance found during
surprise inventory.
In April’07, was asked to look into the process improvements for Taj Group’s flagship Taj Mahal
Hotel, Mumbai & the outcome was appreciated by all concerned.
In past had been speaker at Financial Controllers meet for then Leisure and Luxury SBU of Taj
Group on Cost Control procedures, while sharing the best practices adopted at TPH and on
processes to be in place to combat probable fraudulent activities.
Member and Data Champion (on behalf of Finance Team) of the Regional Purchase Committee
for award of Annual Contracts worth INR 17-18 crores involving all Taj units across city and Key
contact person for Inventory module of Oracle based ERP being implemented in our hotel.
During previous assignments, have focussed on hotel inventory and cost management by keeping
a tab on Budgeted Cost vs Issues.
Revamp of the Cost controls department and Audit Coordination at Taj Pamodzi, Lusaka, Zambia
and Independent handling and setting-up of the Purchase Department & Material management
systems at The Ambassador Hotel, New Delhi when management was taken over by Taj.
